BSC (blended) SCIENCE DEGREE PROGRAMME
to teach python programming in MADRAS UNIVERSITY
INNOVATIVE CURRICULUM
Students will learn python programming along with basic science in University of Madras newly launched B.Sc (blended) science degree program
In the first two years of this program students will study physics , chemistry, mathematics and biology subjects and in the third year they can either choose physics ,chemistry and mathematics for specialisation.
The first ever UG degree was jointly launched with the University of Melbourne Australia in
2022- 23
As part of the flexible papers in the degree program computer simulation with python programming and coding for 3 semesters will also be taught.
Besides coding students are also being taught English for critical thinking and communication, psychology among other courses.
Students enrolled in this program also can access the video lectures ebook and other resources prepared by Melbourne University faculty members
The curriculum is also designed by the University of Melbourne.
Many science departments on the University of Madras' Guindy campus joined hands to offer this programme.
During the third year students will pursue a project in the frontier areas and have to submit a research paper as part of the course
Students with basic sciences degree can diversify their specialisation in many other fields including Geophysics, astrophysics, data science among many others.
Students also get an opportunity to visit University of Melbourne for 2 weeks to get an experience of an international campus
ADMISSION PROCESS
The admissions for the BSc (blended) programme are now open.
Madras University will conduct an entrance test to shortlist the candidates for the blended programme.
Students can apply for the BSc (blended) science degree till 14th JUNE , 2024 on the university's website www.unom.ac.in
